Justine Carandang
Occupational Therapist, CEO, and Founder
Justine is a pediatric occupational therapist who has been working with children and families for over a decade. She earned her undergraduate degree from Villanova University and graduate degree from University of Southern California, where she was awarded several scholarships and grants for her dedication to pediatric care and community service.
Her experience spans early intervention, school-based therapy, outpatient medical therapy, and nature-based summer camps for children with special needs. As an occupational therapist with Portland Public Schools, Justine collaborated with Portland State University to bring adapted rock climbing to her students—creating a fun, inclusive experience that supported motor skills, confidence, and a sense of adventure. Justine has supported campers in Oregon, Washington, and New York, where therapy was woven into nature-based experiences—blending outdoor play, sensory exploration, and group connection in calming, natural settings. These experiences continue to shape her belief that meaningful growth happens best when kids feel safe, supported, and free to explore.
Justine has also volunteered in international efforts serving children in Mexico, Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa, Peru, and Honduras. These opportunities deepened her appreciation for cross-cultural connection and family-centered care. These experiences also strengthened her ability to adapt creatively, deliver meaningful outcomes with limited resources, and provide effective therapy across diverse environments.
She founded North Bay Spot to create a space where therapy feels connected to everyday life—grounded in relationships, play, and collaboration with families. Justine is a new mom, a nature lover, foodie, and a big believer in the power of play. Outside of work, she recharges through mountain biking, rock climbing, backpacking, and exploring new places with no set itinerary. At home, she finds joy in tending to her collection of air plants and succulents. Lately, she’s proudly attempting to become a pineapple guava plant mama.

Natalie Hutter
Occupational Therapist, CFO, and Founder
Known as "Miss Natalie" to her students and kiddos, Natalie Hutter is a passionate Occupational Therapist with over 17 years of experience working with both pediatric and adult clients. She is the Co-Owner and CFO of North Bay Spot and continues to serve in a school-based OT setting, bringing creativity, humor, and heart to every session.
Natalie specializes in identifying each individual's unique strengths and motivators, helping them achieve meaningful goals and live with purpose. Her approach is rooted in compassion and engagement, whether she’s supporting sensory regulation, fine motor skills, or emotional growth.
She holds a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from Wayne State University in 2007. Her diverse clinical background includes school-based therapy, outpatient pediatrics and adult care, inpatient rehab, and acute care.
Natalie has pursued specialized training in areas such as Autism, handwriting programs (HWT and Size Matters), sensory regulation (Zones of Regulation), pain management, return-to-work programs, home design and safety, and body mechanics.
What drives her most is witnessing growth—both big and small—and helping others recognize their own potential while having fun along the way.
When she’s not working with clients or growing a company, Natalie’s all about soaking up life’s precious moments. She’s an avid outdoor adventurer—happiest when hiking, biking, paddleboarding, or swimming (preferably in a lake). She loves baking sweet treats, rearranging her home decor "just for fun”, tending to her jungle of houseplants, and bonding with her favorite animals, friends, and family. A die-hard college basketball fan, Natalie never misses a chance to cheer on her Spartans (Go Green!). Each summer, she recharges at her happy place: the family cottage in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula, where life slows down and sunsets steal the show.
